Without community donations, Novato Community Hospital cannot meet the healthcare needs of our community. Fortunately, there is a great tradition of support for Novato Community Hospital and the outstanding care it provides.

Fundraising Priorities

Novato Community Hospital is in the process of identifing the programs to be selected as philanthropic priorities.

Why do we need your Support?

We need your support because health care costs are rising, while Government and private insurers continue to reduce reimbursements to hospitals and doctors. There are not enough funds to provide new services, purchase new technology, and introduce new programs. Novato Community Hospital is a not-for-profit hospital. We serve everyone seeking emergency care, regardless of his or her ability to pay; yet we receive no tax support. We have no shareholders and pay no dividends. Any net revenue is re-invested in the hospital. Every dollar donated to NCH is used for the program you designate. No fund raising overhead is deducted nor are any donated dollars appropriated by Sutter.
Novato Community Hospital has only three sources of income:
  • Operating revenues have been reduced by smaller insurance payments, substantially increased labor costs, and higher supply costs (especially for pharmaceuticals).

  • Borrowing NCH can obtain financing at advantageous rates, through Sutter Health’s ‘A’ credit rating, but until these funds are repaid, further borrowing is not prudent.

  • Philanthropy is a particularly important source of funds for programs and projects and offers donors tax benefits.

How you can help:

  • By making a direct contribution (check or credit card)

  • By making a pledge

  • By donating securities
You may restrict your gift to any of the hospital's programs or projects listed or you may wish to make an unrestricted contribution that will allow the hospital to direct the funds to the area of greatest need.
